Kaolin processing and production process

Pure kaolin has high whiteness, soft quality, easy to disperse and suspend in water, good plasticity, high cohesiveness, and excellent electrical insulation properties; it has good acid solubility, low cation exchange capacity, and good The fire resistance and other physical and chemical properties. Therefore, kaolin has become a necessary mineral raw material for dozens of industries such as papermaking, ceramics, rubber, chemicals, coatings, medicine and national defense. Kaolin is widely used in the paper industry. There are two main areas, one is the filler used in the papermaking (or papermaking) process, and the other is the pigment used in the surface coating process.

Kaolin processing and production process:

  1. Beneficiation, crush the ore and grind it into powder below 325 mesh;
  2. Put the powder into the slurry tank, add water and dispersant, stir and beating, and crush the ultra-fine powder to 4500-6000 mesh;
  3. Dry the ultra-finely pulverized slurry and send it to the calciner for calcination. During calcination, add 1-3% of the total weight of the whitening aid. The whitening aid is made of clean coal, sodium sulfate and sodium chloride. Composition, mix by weight 10:0.3:0.2. Calcining temperature 970-990℃;
  4. Break up and package into finished products;

In order to meet the higher fineness requirements of kaolin in the papermaking, plastic and rubber products industries, it is necessary to increase the fineness of kaolin to improve the quality of products. The superfine grinding process mainly includes grinding and stripping method, high pressure extrusion method, and jet pulverization method. Kaolin milling equipment usually chooses European version T-shaped mill or ultra-fine grinding.
